The Diploma-III of Midwifery is a program of 6 semesters-duration full time, which divided into 3 levels/year (year I, II, and III). The course is designed for high-school graduates seeking registration as a midwife. The course comprises 118 credit points of study. The Diploma-III of Midwifery has been designed to incorporate clinical learning opportunities and supervised part-time arrangements within a variety of maternity services settings. Students are usually employed within a collaborating hospital, public health centre and private practice to support and provide a sound clinical learning environment for the clinical program requirements of the course.

 On successful completion of this course, students will be awarded the qualification of Diploma-III of Midwifery/ Ahli Madya Kebidanan (A.Md.Keb.). Graduates of this course are expected to have the competence in delivering a wide range of midwifery services including administering midwifery interventions; select appropriate method accordance with various options available by analyzing the data and able to show their performance in measured quality and quantity. This course has been designed to enable eligibility to apply for endorsement as a midwife through the Midwifery Board of Indonesia.

 Career Opportunity

The midwife is recognized as a responsible and accountable professional who works in partnership with women to give the necessary support, care and advice during pregnancy, labor and postpartum period to conducts births and provide care for newborn and infant.

 The midwife has an important task in health counseling and education, not only for women, but also within the family and the community. This work involves antenatal education and preparation for parenthood and may extend to women’s health, sexual or reproductive health and childcare. A midwife may practice in any setting, including the home, community, hospitals, clinics or health units.
